From Fear to First Class

Last Sunday, I had a moment of self awareness while flying back from Washington DC! Picture this: after a whirlwind three-day tour, I finally landed at LAX in the dead of night. As I strolled past the first-class section, I couldn't help but notice the aftermath of luxury – wine glasses, rumpled blankets, seats stuck in full recline. Ah, the envy hit me like a ton of bricks! I was beyond tired, craving some relaxation, and a tiny voice in my head whispered, "I wish I could fly first class." Of course, my inner voice quickly shut down that idea, rambling on about expenses and how coach class is perfectly fine, yada yada yada. But deep down, I knew that flying in style would be a dream come true for this frequent flyer. Hey, even upgrading to comfort plus sounded like a major win!

As I left the plane and continued to ponder the realities of coach flying, I thought back to twelve years ago when I hadn't even taken my first big solo trip. Buying that first ticket to India required some very creative budgeting and overcoming some very real fears. Fast forward to today - not only am I jet-setting solo like a pro, but I'm also the maestro of group travel, living my best globetrotting life! First class and comfort plus? Oh, you bet I'm making it happen!

Today I was back at LAX to catch a flight to Seattle. 🚀 My boarding pass decided to play a little game by not printing the TSA precheck part, but fear not! A kind agent came to the rescue. She glanced at my pass and exclaimed, "Oh, you're Sky Priority, that line over there." 🌟 Lo and behold, she was pointing at the SHORT line! As it turns out, that flight last Sunday catapulted me into Silver Elite status. 🏅 Now, not only do I get to breeze through the short line, but I also score FREE UPGRADES to Comfort Plus and First Class if seats are available! 🎉✈️
